We’re proud to offer an elegant solution on the Candoo: The troth is made from a metal-framed structure panel, surrounded and suspended with a netting that’s tied-up to the frame. It’s super light. It’s super strong. Air flows through it while your belongings stay in place! An ABS front liner acts as a mudguard. UK Sailmakers sew it up @ their Sailloft in Venice, CA.
Assembly
Besides using your original bike’s headset components to install the cargo fork, a second headset is needed to install the 20” front fork. The front fork is a heavy-duty disc-brake equipped BMX or trials bike fork, outfitted with a double-walled rim and a tire choice that pairs up nicely with your bike’s rear tire. The brake cable is routed through the inside of the steering rod to accomplish a clean look as well as directing the cable out of the way of the steered front wheel.
The steering rod is located higher and inside of the bike’s troth for ground clearance and to avoid steering accidents by running over bumps & obstacles. Bolts and fittings are precise, sturdy-sized components for a direct & slack free steering feel.
Jack stand like no other
Wanted was a sturdy, easy to fabricate jack stand that keeps max. ground clearance and is welded to the frame. This one is smarter than all we knew so far. A minimum on parts with a maximum on stance, it's spring acts as a soft stop against the bottom tube when UP, and pulls the second leg in position when kicked DOWN. Slant-angled bolts prevent jack stand-bounce on bumpy terrain.
You're going to find yourself kicking it up- and down, up, down.. it's fun.
